Our Learning Environments

Through a variety of hands-on, interactive STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) exhibits and programs, CKA encourages physical, emotional and cognitive development for young learners and fosters joyful curiosity for all ages. Our target ages are newborns through 5 years old, but our interactive experiences are designed to engage all of our learners.

Infants

We believe learning starts at the very beginning of life; therefore we accept infants as early as at 6 weeks.

At CKA infants are immersed in engaging experiences designed to promote motor and sensory interaction. Planned activities invite them to explore and play, which fosters curiosity, persistence, creativity and problem solving.

This interaction, along with close bonds with their teachers, supports the development of abilities your baby needs to succeed in learning and life.

Toddlers

CKA toddlers classrooms foster children’s developing independence by helping them hone valuable skills, such as the abilities to collaborate and communicate. We are more than just daycare for toddlers, these programs are designed to develop children’s school readiness, critical thinking, physical and  social/emotional development

Preschool

The Preschool Classroom provides a stimulating, nurturing environment for preschoolers. Our program is designed for ages 3 and 5. It is all about allowing free expression and forming their own ideas through play and discovery. The year begins with adaptable play themes close to children’s lives, and over the course of the year, as children’s levels of make-believe play, self-regulation and executive functions develop, the play themes develop as well.

Pre-K

STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) has become a vital part of early childhood education because these subjects help prepare children for life in the 21st century. STEAM-related jobs are included in the fastest-growing industries in the U.S. economy (Baird-Remba, Guey & Lubin, 2013). The number of STEAM-related jobs is expected to increase by the time your children grow up and join the workforce.

In 2021, CKA will roll out a new STEAM program designed especially for our Pre-K learners.  This program is a high-quality, program that exceeds the state requirements. It is our goal to engage our early learners with a fun, high-impact STEAM curriculum that will focus on Science to your child develop a strong beginning and passion for STEAM subjects. Research shows that STEAM learning also helps children develop strong communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical-thinking skills, which are valuable in any career path. We hope to ignite your child to pursue a STEAM-related career later in life.
