Social & Emotional Learning

Our full time childcare center is an amazing program geared towards learning and support. We accept ages 6 weeks to school age. Our infant and toddler program is designed to help stimulate growth in physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Our Preschool program is future focused and is especially designed for ages 2 to 5 to prepare them for school readiness through well researched techniques. We offer support to busy parents by offering after-school pick-up for kids in K-6th grade as well as summer care and virtual learning care. We offer a wide range of planned age appropriate activities that will keep them engaged and academically enriched.

Our Program

Physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development are all essential ingredients of school readiness.
Head Start views school readiness as children possessing the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for success in school and for later learning and life.
Our program has established school readiness goals that are appropriate for the ages and development of enrolled children in the following domains:
- Approaches to Learning
- Social and Emotional Development
- Language and Literacy
- Cognition
- Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development
Implementing and measuring progress toward school readiness goals helps programs individualize for each child and ensure that children know and can do what is needed to be ready for kindergarten.
CKA respects parents as their children's primary nurturers, teachers, and advocates, and our programs are designed to co-teach with parents to master school readiness goals.
